LUTHER: Gospel, Law and Reformation
Calling all men! The Men’s Group of LCR meets Saturday mornings for coffee and discussion starting at 8 a.m. As in the past four years we have been using a DVD presentation by a college professor as the heart of the meeting with a half hour of discussion following. This year our topic is Martin Luther, presented by Professor Phillip Cary of Eastern University. Among our discussion topics are: the meaning of the sacraments, the reformation goes public, controversies over the Lord’s Supper and infant baptism, grace and justification, Luther and the Bible and Luther and modernity. So join us for a discussion and discovery of what make Lutherans different from other protestant denominations and why even Lutherans can’t always agree on what we believe. Luther was a man of paradox, but never contradiction, come see how you feel and join as we attempt to articulate why.
